September 13, 1996

Today marks 22 years since we lost a great rapper, poet, actor, record producer, screenwriter, activist and writer.

Tupac recorded over 713 songs. He starred in 7 films from 1991 until 1996. He sold 75 million records. Had 9 Platinum albums all by the age of 25. He accomplished so much in his lifetime and in my book he's the G.O.A.T.

Tupac Shakur was and still is a beautiful and talented soul.

A rose that grew from concrete

As I mention, earlier in the week. I was first introduced to him at an early age. At the time in my life I was experiencing a lot of difficult things and his music and writings helped me get through those difficult times and my teenage years.

To see a man like Tupac rise and over come his surroundings and things that he experienced I knew I could too. I knew the things I was experiencing and going through were only tempory.

Tupac's song 'Keep ya head up' was released in 1993. However I didn't first hear it until 1997 when I was 11 years old. It was the end of Summer and I remember I was nervous about starting a new school. I'll never forget I was in my room cleaning and it came on the radio. To hear, "Keep ya head up, ooh child things are gonna get easier" was so liberating to hear. At the time, I didn't know what effect that song would have on my life. I just thought it sounded good and it made me feel good. Little did I know it would make a big impact in my life. Every time I was down or discharge I would listen to that song. Still to this day over 20 years later when I'm feeling down or if I'm stressed I play "Keep ya head up".

"I am a delicate rose. Although I came from concrete, I am just as beautiful and unique as the ones that grow in the field." -QueenieKeisha

Man, that song has got me through some trying times and still does. When I'm listening to it my two K's will come and dance with me. They have no idea who Tupac is or what his lyrics are but what I do want to teach them is no matter what Mama has their back and things are definitely going to get easier.

Tupac has been a big influence in my life so you will definitely see a lot of his style and inspirations from him in our shop.

My Two K's are sporting our Tupac inspired red bandanas that will be available in our shop.

I've been working hard on making tons of bandanas for our shop. For behind the scene and a peak of what I'm currently working on follow us on Instagram @mytwoks

A Baby's Gotta Do What A Baby's Gotta Do

A baby's gotta do what a baby's gotta do!

Can you believe it's been 27 years since we were first introduced to Tommy, Chuckie, Phil, Lil, Susie, and Angelica.

Question is, how old were you when the Rugrats first premiered?

I was almost 5 years old when I was first introduced to these adventurest little babies.
My two K's were 2 years old when they first saw Rugrats. I popped in the Rugrat movie and they instantly fell in love. They can't say Rugrats so they call them, "the babies".

My sisters and I were crazy about the Rugrats. We all had our favorites characters and I have to admit mine was Angelica.

{me when I finally get to step out with no kids vs the next
morning when I have to wake up and cook breakfast lol}

I know. I know what your thinking!

Angelica was very mischievous, but that's why I liked her. She said and did stuff I wouldn't dare dream of doing. She was bad to the bone. And I loved it! But I also loved Chuckie. Omg! He was such an adorable red head fraddy cat. And don't forget little Miss Susie Carmichael. I adored her! There weren't very many cartoon characters that looked liked me growing up so seeing her was such an amazing feeling. I absolutely loved her hair because my Mom would do my hair the same way as Susie's. I secretly want to be Susie for Halloween this year and dress the boys up as Phil and Lil, but that would probably take too much work to do and on top of all the other 5000 things I have to do I probably wouldn't have the time to make us costumes. Maybe next year!

The Rugrats movie came out in 1998.
How many of y'all was just as pumped as I was when the Rugrats movie came out. I went bonkers over that movie and I was especially excited because my Mom took my sisters and I to the movie theater to see it. The movie was super fun to watch, but what I loved most was the soundtrack from No Doubt to Busta Rhymes to Mya, the soundtrack was slammin!

When mentioning the Rugrats movie we cant forget about mentioning Mya, Mase and Blackstreet. There song 'Take me there' was a major hit on the soundtrack. Sing with me...

Take me there, I wanna go there
Take me there. Let's go there
Take me to great places with wonders and wishes
Take me there, I wanna go there
Take me there. You know where

I love watching Rugrats with my two K's it reminds me so much of watching it with my sisters. My sisters and I literally watched the Rugrats until we were adults. Last month, they just announced that there will be a relaunch. The Rugrats are back!!! Yesss!!! Rugrats will be coming back with 26 new episodes and a movie in November 2020. You already know I'm taking my two K's to the theater to see it. I love the fact that we can share that experience of watching a Rugrats movie in theaters with our very own children.

If you can't tell already me and my two K's love those adorable little babies and we hope you do too. We will have a ton of Rugrat baby shower sets in our shop and tons of Rugrat pieces here and there. Just take a look at some of the Rugrat stuff we have done for far.

When we reopen be sure to check out our Etsy shop for cool items of Tommy and his crew!

Name change + New Logo!

Wasssup!

I'm so glad your stopping by our blog. I hope that you stay a while and reminisnce with us as we take it back in the day. The '90s were slammin' and all that from the music, to the movies, the television shows and even the fashion.

Before we let the '90s nostalgic begin let's take a look back how it all started...

When we first opened shop in November 2017, our original name was K & K's Royal Boutique. We started off creating nursing necklaces, pacifier clips, and bandana bibs. Our adorable baby shower sets were our number one sellers but we weren't entirely satisfied with the look, the feel and the direction of our handmade shop.

When starting K & K's Royal Boutique, my focus was to bring back the innocence and childhood of the '90s but I began to lose my vison and focus of my original goal. I decided to revamp and relaunch my little handmade shop but this time around I wanted a total '90s nostalgic vibe!
So we decided to change everything! We changed our name and our logo.

Our vision for our new name and new logo is that we bring a brighter, happier, and '90s nostalgic feel to our shop. My twins boys who I refer to as My two K's have always been my inspiration and they're the reason for me starting my shop.

So there you have it!

Welcome to My Two K's blog. We have a lot in store for you and your little ones and hope you enjoy our shop and our blog.

Welcome to My Two K's

Welcome to My Two K's Blog

Whoop, here it is!!!

Your spot for '90s fashion, music, movies, tv, and so much more. My Two K's is a handmade clothing and accessories company for your little flygirls and flyguys. I'm making it my mission to create the hippest, flyest, and dopiest '90s accessories to add to your little Baldwin and Betty's wardrobe.

Let me introuduce myself....

Hi, my name is Keisha but you can call me QueenieKeisha. All my friends know me as QueenieKeisha and I'm hoping through my blog we become great friends as well and have a slammin time here!!
I'm a mama of 2.
Twin boys.
My Kash Money & King Daddy.
My two K's.
This is us.
I can't even put into words how grateful I am to be their Mama.

I am a straight up a '90s Kid.

The music, TV shows, and Movies of the '90s are my childhood. So many of the things I loved growing up, I now get to share this love of my childhood with my sons, MY TWO K'S. My sons have an old soul just like Mama and are just as obsessed with the 90s as I am. They only like watching 90s movies and cartoons (which I love). Their favorite movies are Kazaam, Hocus Pocus, Lion King, Space Jam, 3 Ninjas, and Good Burger. My two K's favorite 90s tv show is That's so Raven and their favorite cartoons are the Rugrats, Ducktails, and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

They truly have a '90s kind of heart!

Sharing my love of the '90s with My Two K's has been a fun, heart filled, magical nostalgic adventure!

My hope is that you will find something that stirs up happy childhood memories for years to come in our handmade shop or here on our blog. I want to bring back the simplicity and innocent of the '90s and the awesome memories that you can pass down and create new memories with your Flygirl or Flyguy.

I miss the '90s! Like real bad! I want to see girls looking like they stepped straight outta a TLC music video screaming GIRL POWER, making baggy and loose clothes look sexy, crazy, and cool again. Guys bringing a little of that Fresh Prince of Bel Air bright neon multicolor vibe back!

And that's what My Two K's is here to do! Are you ready for some '90s nostalgic? Not only will we be showcasing new items from our shop but we will be having fashion post, music videos, DIYs, and  tons of throwbacks so stay tunned!

We're bringing back the '90s Because the '90s are ALL THAT!
